Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a man entered a woman’s flat and raped her in a “horrific” attack in Beckenham.
The victim is being supported by specialist Met officers following the incident, which happened at her home in Worsley Bridge Road shortly after 4.30am on Saturday, August 20.
Detective Constable Sue Windsor, from the Met’s Public Protection Command, said: “This was a horrific attack on a woman in her own home, a place where she should feel safe.”
Detectives are now asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they would like to speak to, as part of their investigation.
As the Met released two images of the man on Friday, Det Con Windsor said: “We are doing everything we can to try and find the person responsible and would ask anyone who recognises the man in the photo to call us or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.
“Tackling all forms of violence against women is one of our top priorities in the Met and we take all reports of this nature extremely seriously.”
