Bébé Bob: Rotisserie chicken restaurant from Bob Bob Ricard team to launch in Soho

The team behind Bob Bob Ricard is to open in Soho a new casual restaurant, Bébé Bob.

A slight departure from its unwaveringly high-end bigger sister, the 56-cover Bébé Bob will specialise in rotisserie chicken alongside affordable wines and Champagnes, and will open for lunch and supper.

The group said the new site “represents a new direction for the restaurant group,” though will by no means be removed from luxury dining.

On the menu, created by chef director Ben Hobson, will be two varieties of chicken from Vendee and Landes in France, two regions known for quality poultry. The birds will be served whole, carved tableside, and matched with sides such as truffle fries and winter leaf salad, and sauces including chicken jus and Albufeira.

As it does at Bob Bob Ricard and Bob Bob City, caviar will play a central role, with a menu comprising Baerii, Oscietra and Shrenkii, each served with blinis made at the table.

Starters will include Jersey oysters, egg mayonnaise with anchovy, smoked salmon from the West Country, and white asparagus with hollandaise. In charge of drinks is group head sommelier Giacomo Recchia, with wines, both white and red, from Burgundy given a leading role.

As at the group’s two other locations, the mark-up on all fine wines will stick at £75, no matter the price of the bottle.

As for the design of the place, Danial Monk, who worked on Bob Bob Ricard nearby, has again incorporated an Art Deco theme, with a red and blue colour scheme in a dining room punctuated by a 12-seat circular bar with a golden granite top.

Founder Leonid Shutov, said: “To open Bébé Bob during our 15th year is a very special moment.

“We look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers to our brand new single concept dining experience, where delicious food, excellent fine wines and champagne are the order of the day.”
