Purchasing a luxurious new designer bottle of perfume can be one of those buys that is as expensive as it is exciting.
With some designer and top-branded fragrances retailing at hundreds of pounds for one bottle, many of us might find it difficult to justify the price - especially now that budgeting is more important than ever.
But if you really want to treat yourself, then one savvy shopper has come to the rescue with a simple hack that will get you 80% off one of the most expensive perfumes on the market.
Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group on Facebook, the shopper explained how they managed to snap up a free scent from Penhaligon's when they purchased a travel atomiser.
The premium perfume house is known for providing some of the UK's most luxurious, yet expensive fragrances that can retail up to a whopping £210 for one 75ml bottle.
However, one little known hack is to purchase one of the companies small 5ml travel atomisers for just £25, that they will then fill with your choice of fragrance for free. And, according to the same shopper, you can get unlimited re-fills for a good few months after.
The shopper shared the hack to the money-saving group with the caption: "I think I found a bit of a bargain today!
"If anyone has heard of Penhaligon's perfumes and aftershaves but doesn’t like the price tag I went into my local store today to ask for a sample for holiday, they didn’t have any but showed me a travel atomiser for £25 that they fill with your choice of scent.
"Then you get unlimited re-fills for a good few months after. If you filled up every week you could have a bottles worth that would have cost 150/200 pound."
The simple hack has quickly racked up a whopping 2.2k likes and hundreds of comments from shoppers who have been thanking the original poster for sharing the hack.
"This is fab!! Thank you. I spent a good time at Heathrow smelling all of the perfumes. Halfeti was my fave, the only way I could describe it was rich lady smell", said one thankful shopper.
"Oh I'd get myself a bigger atomiser and empty the little ones in there, keep going in for refills", commented a second.
"That’s brilliant! Will be popping into my local store…..thank you for the info!", exclaimed a third.
