Beautiful waterfalls to visit in Northern Ireland during your summer staycation

There is an abundance of beautiful places to go and see in Northern Ireland.

This makes staycations here brilliant as you will never run out new places to visit.

There are a number of stunning waterfalls across the country with breath-taking views you can see while exploring nature spots NI has to offer.

We've put together a list of some great waterfalls you need to visit that are great for a chilled family day out. These include some hidden gems that you may not of heard of before.

Glenoe Waterfall

Gleno Waterfall (Holly McDonagh)

An amazing 30 ft waterfall in the Glens of Antrim and owned by the National Trust.

It's a short stroll from the village of Gleno and with steps and paths winding around a small glen with a picturesque waterfall.

Cranny Falls

Situated in Co Antrim, in the seaside village of Carnlough.

To get here, take the steps next to the Harbour Lights building which will lead you to Gortin Quarry, then follow the signs to Cranny Falls.

Glenariff Forest Park

A gorgeous landmark with three beautiful waterfalls and situated among one of the nine Antrim Glens, Queen of the Glens.

It has a waterfall walkway which is three miles long and passes through a National Nature Reserve.

Woodburn Reservoirs

Located in Ballycarry, Co Antrim, Woodburn Reservoirs also has a stunning hidden waterfall.

Popular with anglers as the lakes are stocked regularly with fish.

Drummoney Falls

This impressive attraction is in Kesh near Enniskillen.

It's just a short walk from the entrance to this spot of natural beauty.

Tollymore Forest Park

Set at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in Newcastle, Co Down.

It is home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Northern Ireland, with a number of other lesser known gems.

Ness Country Park

In Co Derry, at Ness Country Park lies one of the highest waterfalls in the country.

Here, there are also wildlife ponds, wildflower meadows and stunning woodland and riverside walks.

Sloughan Glen Waterfall

Sloughan Glen is situated in Drumquin, Omagh, Co Tyrone.

A short woodland walk leads you to this spectacular waterfall.

Roogagh Waterfall

Another hidden beauty, this time in Garrison, Co Fermanagh.

The area is great to visit for walking and biking enthusiasts, with beautiful walks on offer.

Kilbroney Forest Park

This waterfall is situated at the former country estate near Rostrevor, outside Newry.

It features riverside walks and an arboretum, with a two-mile forest drive to panoramic views over Carlingford Lough.

Dunseverick Falls

A great spot to visit if you are on a staycation near Bushmills.

Situated at 190 Causeway Road.
