Beautiful stately Scottish home on the market for price of an Edinburgh one-bed flat

We all know that property prices are influenced by location and Edinburgh's is considered one of Scotland's most desirable cities.

With everything it has to offer and its 'city' status, Edinburgh's average property price is sitting at £299,649, according to ESPC's latest report. But just across the Firth, prices can drop significantly.

In Edinburgh's city centre, apartments can be full of character with many still retaining Georgian features.

Meanwhile, over in Dunfermline, you could buy a standard four-bed semi-house with a private garden and garage for more than half the price.

The four bed property is situated in the Pitcorthie area of Dunfermline and has been decorated with a neutral palette so the new owners can put their own stamp on it.

Right Move adds: "The accommodation is formed over two levels and comprises; bright entrance hallway, large lounge with focal fireplace, open plan dining room, fitted kitchen, a bright and welcoming sun-room, downstairs large double bedroom and w/c. On the upper level there are two excellently sized double bedrooms and a single, a three piece bathroom suite completes the internal layout.

While Edinburgh isn't right on your doorstep, the train can only take half an hour to 40 minutes. And with the extra cash you could be saving, you could add traditional-esque features where you like.
