'Beautiful' Scottish street revealed as one of the most expensive in the UK

THIS "beautiful" street in the heart of a major Scottish city has been revealed as one of the most expensive in Britain.

Manor Place, which is located in the West End of Edinburgh, is lined with wonderful Georgian and Victorian townhouses, a stunning cathedral and benefits from "well-kept" communal grounds, according to The Times.

The neighbourhood was named among other sought-after areas, including Winnington Road in Hampstead and Burley Lane in Derby.

The publication also highlighted the "excellent" shopping opportunities nearby, which are said to include independent businesses, boutiques, cafés and delis.

House prices here are much higher than those elsewhere in Scotland with the average price of a property being around £820,000.

Talking about the Scottish location in more detail, David Law of estate agents Strutt & Parker said Manor Place is known for its "prime location" in the city.

He added that the neighbourhood, which is "dotted" with "pretty" Georgian townhouses, has been brought back into residential use, making it stand out from other nearby streets, which are primarily filled with commercial units.

The street is mostly comprised of wealthy families who come here to make the most of the "space" and "character" these homes provide.

Young professionals are also drawn here to "snap up" historic apartments in the heart of the nation's capital.

David added that the prices here "reflect the desirability of the area" and can range from £500,00 for a two-bedroom flat to around £2.5 million for a sizeable townhouse with garden grounds.
