A beautiful open-air swimming pool near Bristol is set to reopen for its summer season. Portishead lido will welcome back swimmers this Saturday (April 1) at 2pm, and it takes just 25 minutes to drive to from our city centre.
The popular attraction has benefitted from a number of changes over the winter. It now has a new poolside deck built by the cafe and has also been given a revamp with a lick of paint, reports Somerset Live.
Water is heated to 28C and the pool will be open every day during the two-week Easter break. In term time it will open for early morning and evening swims as well as at the weekends.

Portishead Pool spokeswoman Barbara Thatcher said: “We are really looking forward to opening for the 2023 summer season and welcoming people back again.”
Last year the pool welcomed 50,000 people through its turnstiles and the Portishead Pool Community Trust is hoping this year will be a record breaking one.
“We have our fingers crossed for some good weather,” added Mrs Thatcher. Pool supporters are also looking at how operating costs of the lido, taken over by the trust in 2009, can be reduced.
New solar panels could also be installed at the lido to help with the rise in energy prices. Events including swimming galas and swim coaching sessions are also planned for this year.
