'Beautiful' detached family home in Greater Manchester that is almost £200,000 cheaper than average house price

Families who are looking for a new home often want to get the right mix of a good location near to reputable schools and a generous living space, all within a reasonable budget.

Across Greater Manchester, the average price of a detached home is now £441,000, but you can often find a good-sized house for much cheaper if you know just where to look. As the region's cheapest borough, Wigan has plenty of affordable houses which you can buy for much less than the average cost of a home.

Our Property of the Week this week, chosen by our property journalist, is a three-bed detached home in Leigh which is on the market for a bargain £260,000 - which is almost £200,000 cheaper than the average price of detached homes across the region.
