'Beautiful and amazing' mum and bride-to-be killed in devastating horror smash

A heartbroken family have paid moving tributes to a "loving" mum who died in a horror car crash.

Sarah Kirsty Lumb, 42, from Southport was pronounced dead shortly after a road traffic accident at around 8.25am on Monday (October 17), reports the Liverpool Echo.

Lancashire Police shut North Moor Lane in Halsall, South Lancashire for at least six hours following the incident, which sparked a large emergency response and saw members of the public urged to avoid the area.

Sarah's family are now being supported by specially trained officers.

Her devastated daughter, Jess, has since paid tribute to her mum, saying she would always put "everything and everyone before herself".

The mum - who her daughter Jess called a 'compassionate and loving mother' - died at the scene in Lancashire (google)

Jess told the Echo: "She was an amazing, compassionate and loving mother, who will be dearly missed. Sarah played many roles as well as being a mother.

"She was a person who put everything and everyone before herself. She was the glue that held everyone together, and for that I am thankful to call her my mother.”

Sarah’s fiancé Chris meanwhile spoke of the loss that would now be felt by the family, writing: “Sarah was a beautiful, amazing mother, sister and partner, there is a whole in our life that can never be repaired. Love you and miss you like crazy. Until we meet again, Chris.”

Her younger brother Anthony also left an emotional tribute to his sister, remembering the support she provided him throughout his life.

Anthony said: “My beautiful big sis. You have always been there for me from day one, until now, you can finally be at ease and be with our mum looking down at all of us, I'm going to miss you so much sis. Love you forever your little bro Anthony.”

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to email 2957@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 303 of October 17, 2022.
