'Beaten but not defeated' - Leeds United supporters react to Man City defeat

Leeds United suffered a frustrating 4-0 loss at the hands of title contenders Manchester City as the race for Premier League survival continues to shred nerves in West Yorkshire. While Leeds did not give in against the title hopefuls and continued to scrap and fight, they were eventually outmatched and outclassed by City's stars.

A free-kick from Phil Foden, which was latched onto by Rodri saw the visitors take the lead at Elland Road, while further goals from Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho further compounded Leeds' misery on a day that Burnley climbed above them in the Premier League table.

Perhaps more frustratingly for Jesse Marsch's side was the injuries they suffered both before and during the game, with captain Liam Cooper being withdrawn in the warm-ups and Stuart Dallas being stretchered off following a collision with Jack Grealish.

The result leaves Leeds five points above the relegation zone in 17th place. Everton sit 18th but do now have two games in hand on the Whites, one of which they will play tomorrow against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

And following the 4-0 drubbing, fans took to social media to give their take on Leeds United's frustrating evening of Saturday action.

@trevchildy tweeted: It is what it is, move on, need points from the last few games.

@FisherBertie tweeted: Proud of the lads today. City didn’t run amok as they did before. The lads played until the whistle. I hope Stuart is ok, he’s a legend. No matter what, we are MOT

@ScampyFryNinja tweeted: really sick of this season and watching us limp every game. sacking bielsa wasnt the answer. the problems are still there. yes we were playing City, but this wasnt a one-off this is every week. maybe we need to be relegated to come back stronger.

@CDeanus tweeted: Score line flattered them, but we are down to the bear bones and if we made the change in December things would be better and different. So come on Chelsea

@ctov7 tweeted: Average no of times Rodrigo gives the ball away every game??? He must be amazing on the training ground

@LuckTheWolf tweeted: Beaten but not defeated
