Beat The Chaser's Anne Hegerty forced to pull out of show as replacement confirmed

Anne Hegerty has revealed she is set to miss out on the next season of Beat The Chasers.

The Governess usually appears alongside Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Darragh Ennis and Shaun Wallace on the popular ITV game show.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomes four quizzers onto each edition of the popular spin-off, which gives players the option to take on between two to five of the quiz genius'. Those who select the higher number of Chasers play for a larger cash prize.

However, Anne has revealed she will not be appearing on the next season after she tested positive for coronavirus. The Governess issued the health update on Twitter and said she will be replaced on the upcoming series by The Chase Australia's, Issa Schultz.

She tweeted : "Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers.

"The fantastic@Issa25 will be stepping in for me and I’m looking forward to watching the series when it’s on air later this year. I feel fine, but I'm still positive! (in all respects)"

Fans flooded the comments to wish Anne a speedy recovery.

Garreth said: "Get well soon Anne. And welcome Issa!"

Chloe added: "Aww bless you anne"

Carly posted : "Aww sorry to hear this Anne. I hope you get better soon. You will be missed terribly but Issa won’t let you down he’ll absolutely smash it. So looking forward to seeing Issa in action very shortly as I’m waiting to enter the studio"

Linda commented: "Sorry to hear this Anne you just concentrate on getting better. You will be a big miss in the new series of Beat the Chasers but your health is more important. Wishing you a speedy recovery xxxxxx"
