Bears Wire sends Vikings a pass rusher in latest mock draft

The Super Bowl is over, and now it’s officially NFL Draft season. The Minnesota Vikings have a lot of holes to fill this off-season. The hope is that with a new defensive coordinator, they can rebuild their defense on the fly, either through free agency or the NFL Draft.

On Monday, Jarrett Bailey of Bears Wire helped the Vikings’ defense out in his recent mock draft by having them select Notre Dame edge, Isaiah Foskey.

“Good lord the Vikings defense was bad. They need someone who can get pressure consistently opposite of Danielle Hunter. It feels like they’ve drafted cornerbacks in the first round for the last decade, none of which have worked out. This class is deep, though, so they focus on getting a pass rusher in the first round.”

Za’Darius Smith and Danielle Hunter were the main edge rushers last season for the Vikings, but they are getting older. By taking Foskey, they’ll get a young pass rusher who can develop and potentially supplant Hunter or Smith in the next few years.
