The Chicago Bears are kicking off the 2022 NFL season with a home game against the San Francisco 49ers, which begins the Matt Eberflus era.
The Bears are in their first year of a rebuild, so there’s a whole lot of new this season. New retooled roster, new coordinators, new schemes and a new culture in place under Eberflus.
This matchup will feature two first-round quarterbacks from the 2021 NFL draft in Chicago’s Justin Fields and San Francisco’s Trey Lance, where Fields has the advantage as the more experienced quarterback.
We’ll see if the Bears have what it takes to pull of an upset. If they’re going to beat the 49ers, there’s no better time to do it than Week 1.
