The Chicago Bears are trading linebacker Roquan Smith to the Baltimore Ravens for a pair of draft picks, per multiple reports.
Chicago is getting a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft in return for their star defender, as well as linebacker A.J. Klein, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft out of Georgia, Smith has been one of the league’s best at his position over the past four-plus seasons, but had grown frustrated with his contract situation in Chicago.
Now, he finds a new home in Baltimore, where he’ll presumably get a new contract, while the Bears get two more draft picks to accelerate their rebuild under new management.
