Bears QB Justin Fields on pace to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in 2022

The Bears have unlocked a new element of their offense with quarterback Justin Fields’ elite athleticism, which has been on display over the last few games.

In fact, Fields made NFL history in last Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins, where he rushed for 178 yards and a score. Those yards were the most ever by a quarterback in a regular season game, breaking Michael Vick’s previous record.

Fields leads the Bears in rushing with 602 yards. Khalil Herbert is right behind him at 586 yards and David Montgomery at 397. And it’s fair to start wondering if Fields will eclipse 1,000 on the season, a feat accomplished only by Lamar Jackson and Vick.

Right now, Fields is second in rushing by quarterbacks, trailing only Jackson, who has 635.

Ahead of Week 10, Fields is on pace for 1,137 rushing yards. While Chicago would certainly love to get the passing game going, Fields’ athleticism is something for opposing teams to contend with, and it’ll continue to be a focal point for Luke Getsy’s offense moving forward.
