The Bears are out in full force at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., where general manager Ryan Poles and his staff are getting a look at and meeting with some of the nation’s top prospects.
Joining Poles is head coach Matt Eberflus, assistant GM Ian Cunningham and various scouts. Even wide receiver Velus Jones, a Mobile native, was spotted on the sideline.
Most importantly, offensive coordinator Luke Getsy is serving as the head coach of the American team, which will serve to help Poles and his staff in the draft evaluation process.
“That’s the most important reason why I’m here,” Getsy said Tuesday. “I keep the main goal the main thing, and that’s the final way to get our team to be a better football team. And this gives you a great opportunity to dive into the type of men they are. We’re trying to build this organization with guys who love football, and so we get to find that out when you get to be so hands-on.”
