The Chicago Bears are in the middle of their search for a new head coach and general manager, which has had fans impatiently waiting to see how it all plays out.
But there’s head coach drama outside of Chicago, as well. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton hasn’t committed to returning to the Saints in 2022.
Payton still has three years left on his contact, but he hasn’t informed the organization that he’s definitely returning, per Rapoport.
There’s been a ton of buzz about Payton potentially leaving the NFL to serve as an NFL analyst. According to SI’s Albert Breer, television networks are interested in Payton down the line.
While any potential Payton departure from New Orleans probably means he’s headed for TV, that hasn’t stopped Bears fans from shooting their shot for the Saints head coach and former Chicago quarterback.
