The Chicago Bears have battled a slew of injuries this season, especially in the secondary. But it sounds like help is on the way.
Cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury suffered in Week 3, sounds poised to make his return to the lineup.
Buy Bears TicketsJohnson appeared on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Friday, where he confirmed he’ll be back in action for Chicago’s Week 6 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure,” Johnson said.
Johnson is already thinking ahead to next Sunday’s matchup against the Vikings, where he’s eager to shadow All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson.
“I’m definitely hoping they give me that matchup and kind of let me run loose with him,” Johnson said.
There could be more reinforcements on the way. Cornerback Kyler Gordon, who landed on injured reserve with a broken hand, was spotted after the Bears’ loss against the Denver Broncos without a cast on his hand. Gordon, who’s missed the last four games, is eligible to return from IR against the Vikings on Oct. 15.
