Bearded Theory festival 2023: Dates, line-up, and how to get tickets

Bearded Theory festival 2023 is fast approaching, with the likes of Billy Bragg, Interpol, and Primal Scream set to hit the stage.

With the full line-up now announced, the annual festival will play host to some of the biggest names in alternative music.

Set in the heart of the national forest, Bearded Theory is returning for its 14th year, with a new Big Top Stage in the main arena accompanying two other stages.

Last year’s headliners included Placebo, Patti Smith, and The Flaming Lips.

Here is what you need to know.

When is Bearded Theory 2023?

Next year’s Bearded Theory festival will take place from May 25 to 28 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire.

Who is performing at Bearded Theory 2023?

Headlining Sunday are iconic new wave band Pretenders, led by Chrissie Hynde, and Scottish indie dance rockers Primal Scream.

The rest of the line-up features a typically eclectic mix of artists, including New York rockers Interpol, self-proclaimed gypsy-swing punk rockers Gogol Bordello, one of synth pop’s founding fathers Gary Numan, seven-piece Celtic-punks Flogging Molly, and post-punk paragons Echo and the Bunnymen.

Awardwinning names such as Anna Calvi, Beth Orton, and Billy Bragg, as well as bands Public Service Broadcasting, Alvvays, Sleeper, Jealous Nostril (helmed by former Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell), and The Go! Team will also be playing.
