Bear Grylls has shared a touching message to his son Marmaduke in celebration of his 19th birthday — the first they’ve spent apart as a family.
The adventurer and TV star, 49, took to Instagram on Monday to post a series of family photos, reflecting on how much he misses his second eldest son, who is currently travelling through Asia.
“Happy 19th birthday Marmaduke! Our first one apart as a family and we miss you,” Bear wrote alongside the snaps. “Stay safe on those motorbikes…”
The photos showed Marmaduke standing tall by his famous dad, enjoying a hearty plate of ribs at a restaurant, and dressed smartly in a beige suit while attending a sporting event with his parents.
Marmaduke, who Grylls shares with wife Shara Grylls, is the couple’s middle son. They also have Jesse, 21, and Huckleberry, 15.

After sharing the tribute, several of Grylls’ celebrity followers commented their well wishes for the teen.
Ben Fogle commented: “Happy birthday Marmaduke.”
“Happy birthday Marmaduke hope you’ve had a wonderful day - that looks like a feast,” while Annabel Croft penned.
This Morning star Alice Beer also shared: “Happiest of days on your adventures Marmaduke! (Shara)”.

In February, the British explorer revealed his pride in Marmaduke as he prepared to head off on a four-month solo trip across Asia.
Sharing a photo of the two of them in Australia, he wrote: “So sad but also happy for Marmaduke – saying goodbye to him here in Australia as he heads to Asia for four months.”
He explained that his son had been working to fund the trip himself: “He’s worked hard in a butcher’s in London, earned his way and is now going off for his own adventure.”
Bear signed off with a heartfelt message, adding: “Have fun, stay safe, come home soon. We miss you… Shara and me head home from our BG Live tour and I start the Celebrity Bear Hunt.”
