A "brilliant" teenager has been picked to go on a "once in a lifetime" scouting mission in Korea.
Danny Jones, 15, has been rewarded for his extensive work in the community as part of 12th Wallasey Scout group. After joining as a Beavers at the age of five, Danny has now progressed to the role of young leader, and will get the opportunity to campaign for change on key world issues at next summer's World Scout Jamboree in SaeManGeum.
The event will see 50,000 young people from almost every nation on earth meet for a 12-day camp where they will learn new skills in the biggest scouting gathering since the Covid-19 pandemic began. And Danny, from Wallasey, couldn't be more thrilled to be making the 6,000-mile trip to South Korea.

Danny said: “I am so excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity, I am really looking forward visiting Korea and experiencing their culture and making lots of new friends. I will also be able to get more badges for my camp blanket."
Scouts is the world's largest youth movement, with more than 638,000 individuals actively involved in Scouts in the UK.
UK Chief Scout Bear Grylls, said: "Congratulations to Danny and all those who have been selected to go on this amazing adventure. World Scout Jamborees only happen every four years and tens of thousands of Scouts from across the world attend each one. Young people will experience different cultures, languages and cuisine while learning new skills.
"After two very difficult years, it is so important that these young people have this opportunity. The 2023 Jamboree, hosted by Korea, is set to be one of the biggest and most exciting yet. The theme is “Think big. Dream wild. Act together.” – focusing especially on how we can be trailblazers in creating a sustainable world together.
Danny had to go through a rigorous selection process before he won his spot at next year's event, and his mum, Kate, told the ECHO he "cant wait" to get over there.
She said: “I’m really proud of him. He’s just a brilliant, resilient young man. Nothing stops him - he’s just so determined in everything that he does.”
Danny has already raised more than £1,000 of the £3,500 needed to attend the Jamboree, with his fundraising exploits including a craft fair, a bingo night and a fire service car wash.
