A beaming Meghan Markle has broken cover and been seen for the first time since it emerged she would be skipping King Charles' Coronation next month.
She was seen via videolink introducing a Ted Talk by her long-time friend and photographer Misan Harriman, who has snapped many photos of Prince Harry, Meghan and their family.
It was also Meghan's first appearance since reports surfaced that she wrote a personal letter to the King over her concerns of racism within the Royal Family.
The Duchess of Sussex is understood to have sent the correspondence in the wake of the her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she alleged comments were made about the colour of their unborn son Archie's skin.
Her appearance introducing the Ted Talk yesterday emerged after Misan posted a photo on Instagram showing Meghan on the big screen, smiling as she spoke.
He wrote: "The Duchess of Sussex was kind enough to introduce me unto the stage for my @ted Thank you for the support Meg."
In the photo, Meghan can be seen with her sleek, straight hair cascading over her shoulders while wearing a white top, with the screen indicating her name as Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
Introducing him, Meghan praised Misan's "unmatched eye for a good photograph" and added: "I've experienced his talent first hand as he has captured many meaningful milestones for me and my family. And I know there are many others who share this experience."
And before getting down to his lecture, Meghan said: "I am so thrilled to welcome to the TED stage, my dear friend Misan Harriman."
Misan took the images of Harry, Meghan and Archie, where she announced she was pregnant with daughter Lilibet. He also snapped the sweet photo of Lilibet that was released to mark her first birthday.
The clip may have been filmed at her home in Montecito, California, where she will remain on May 6, the day of the Coronation with children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - although Prince Harry will be at the historic event.
The day of the Coronation is also Archie's fourth birthday, which is said to have been a key factor in her deciding to skip the event.
Meghan's on screen appearance also comes after it was reported that a letters were exchanged between Meghan and King Charles in the wake of the Oprah tell-all chat.
In the interview, Meghan claimed a member of the royal family had speculated about how dark their unborn son's skin would be. The claims in March 2021 plunged the monarchy into crisis as the Windsors faced allegations of racism.
The paper reports that Meghan's letter was sent in response to a letter from Charles, in which he expressed his sadness over the split within the family.
The letters are also said to make clear the identity of the senior royal who made the comment, with both Meghan and Charles acknowledging that the remark was not made maliciously, according to the paper.
Since the Oprah Winfrey interview, Harry has denied that the couple accused members of the royal family of being racist.
In an exchange during an interview with Tom Bradby on ITV in January to promote his memoir, the presenter said "in the Oprah interview you accused members of your family of racism", Harry responded by saying "no I didn’t", adding "the British press said that".
After Bradby said the duchess claimed troubling comments were made about Archie's skin colour, Harry said: "There was – there was concern about his skin colour."
Asked if he would describe that as racist, the duke said: "I wouldn't, not having lived within that family."
He continued: "The difference between racism and unconscious bias, the two things are different."
"But once it's been acknowledged, or pointed out to you as an individual, or as an institution, that you have unconscious bias, you therefore have an opportunity to learn and grow from that in order so that you are part of the solution rather than part of the problem."
