Dan Walker flashed a smile as he was pictured for the first time since he announced he would be leaving the BBC after 13 years to join Channel 5.
The BBC Breakfast presenter, 45, appeared in high spirits as he left the studios in Manchester on Tuesday after filming the show, with viewers taking to Twitter to say it "wouldn't be the same" without him.
Dan announced on Monday he was set to join Channel 5 within the next few weeks after bosses gave him an 'opportunity' he couldn't turn down.
The TV personality, who starred on Strictly last year, was smartly dressed in a navy suit and protected himself from the rain with a grey raincoat.
But the wet weather didn't dampen Dan's spirits as he beamed at photographers after his fans took to social media to tell him he would be missed on the early morning show.
One viewer wrote: "Mornings won't be the same. We'll miss you!", while another added: "Going to miss your positivity on a morning".
A third fan chimed: "So sorry to see you go. Wishing you the best of luck for the future. Will miss you terribly though. What’s up with the red couch? Is it the early hours? Can’t say I blame you."
"Oh so gutted to be losing you Dan, you and Louise got our family through lockdown with 2 children home schooling and a baby on the way", wrote another viewer.
Dan addressed his decision to move to Channel 5 on Tuesday's show as he told his co-star Sally Nugent: "This has been a really difficult decision for me. Probably the hardest decision I've had to make in my career.
"Because I love you to bits and I love working with you."
"I love you too, Daniel," Sally interjected.
Dan continued: "And I love the team at BBC Breakfast. These six years I've had on this sofa have been the best six years of my career by some distance. But I think sometimes opportunities come by and you have to grab them, don't you?
"I've never ever been motivated by money in any job that I've ever taken and even though I love BBC Breakfast and everybody that works on the show, it's a fantastic opportunity to work with a brilliant team at Channel 5. And also, go and make some other programmes outside of here."
Dan joined BBC's Football Focus in 2009, which he hosted until 2021, when he decided to step down as Alex Scott took over.
He has been presenting BBC Breakfast since 2016 and has also hosted shows on BBC Radio 5 Live and reported for Match of the Day.
