A 30-YEAR-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault of a woman on a Scottish beach.
A beach area of Oban was cordoned off last night, after a report that a 28-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted in the early hours of the morning.
Officers were seen at the two entrances to the Wee Bay on George Street, before leaving the area at around 9am.
On Thursday afternoon, police confirmed a 30-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the serious sexual assault of a 28-year-old woman in Oban.
"The incident happened around 2.20am on Thursday, 17 April, 2025 on George Street.
"Enquires are ongoing."
