Sand, deckchairs and palm trees are set to conjure up a holiday mood in the city as the popular Beach Box announces an early return to Newcastle.
The seaside-theme pop-up will be back in Jesmond from this April and it is already inviting bookings from those keen to soak up the beach vibe, no matter what the weather is like. And, to celebrate its return, it is planning a "four-day opening festival" from April 15-18.
In the run-up, the outdoor beer garden will be taking shape once again behind The Holy Hobo in Jesmond where it has proved a huge success on its previous outings, which in 2020 included a jokey addition of 'lifeguards' - in keeping with the theme - to patrol customers and ensure that all the Covid rules in place at that time were followed.

Now, with all restrictions lifted, it is promising its comeback run throughout the summer will have a packed menu of "beverages, food vendors, live music, DJs, dancing and family fun".
Local food favourite Truly Madly Pizza has confirmed it will be among the street food attractions, alongside Greek food specialist Acropolis and Bao Down, known for its bao buns, gyoza and fries, which both have outlets at Stack, the container village which recently announced its closure.
News of the Beach Box return delighted its Facebook followers, who tagged friends and left comments included "looking forward to warmer days for drinks" and "I wanna try this". To book a spot at Beach Box see here.
