Energy conglomerate Bangchak Corporation Plc (BCP) has marked more than 20 years of growth with a new identity, reflected through a redesigned leaf logo as it transitions to clean energy and a mission to maintain Thailand's energy security.
Chaiwat Kovavisarach, president and chief executive of BCP, said the reworked corporate logo was done at an "opportune time" after Bangchak diversified product lines, adding to its retail fuel sales at service stations.
"From a refining and marketing business, we grew and expanded into green power, bio-based products, natural resources, and new businesses, all of which are growing and simultaneously ready for an accelerated scale-up," he said.
The four colours of the new leaf logo symbolise the diversity of Bangchak Group, said Mr Chaiwat. The company offers bio-based products for health and well-being, including prebiotics and probiotics, integrating them into modern lifestyles beyond refuelling or buying coffee at service stations.
Bangchak Group has 65 subsidiaries across five businesses in 10 countries.
"The new leaf logo reflects Bangchak's vision of 'Crafting a Sustainable World with Evolving Greenovation' while it continues to prioritise a balance between energy security and energy transition," he said.
Bangchak is determined to focus more on clean energy to support global campaigns against carbon dioxide emissions, which are attributed for causing global warming and climate change, said Mr Chaiwat.
"While emphasising the scale-up of businesses that will fulfil energy security, the company is also exploring innovations that will foster balance during the energy transition, which cannot be achieved with the flick of a switch," he said.
"Most importantly, we are crafting various objectives that are aligned with global trends."
In 2015 and 2020, Bangchak had earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) averaging 10 billion baht.
In the first nine months of 2022, it racked up Ebitda of 37.7 billion baht, reflecting its strength and stability.
"This is the right time to mark the success with the new identity, logo, vision and mission, which are all aligned with the growth and transformation of Bangchak Group," said Mr Chaiwat.
"At the regional and global levels, we are not large and have many voids to fill in terms of growth."
