The much loved Paddington Bear films will be aired by the BBC over the upcoming bank holiday weekend, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
The first Paddington movie will air on Saturday, September 17, with its sequel playing on Monday evening, after the Queen's state funeral.
The late Queen Elizabeth II and Paddington Bear, voiced by James Bond actor Ben Whishaw, starred in a sketch as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
In it, she comically revealed she keeps a marmalade sandwich in her handbag - a favourite food of the fictional children's book character.
It appeared to be a particular favourite with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who beamed with delight when watching their great-granny's performance during the June celebrations.
The sweet sketch was immensely popular and earlier this week crowds were asked to stop leaving Paddington Bear toys and wrapped marmalade sandwiches as tributes to the Queen.
Mourners have instead been advised to place only unwrapped flowers and sandwiches in Green Park as staff are struggling to cope.
The Royal Parks is also urging well-wishers to refrain from leaving balloons and lit candles due to their threat to wildlife.
The charity said on its website: "In the interests of sustainability, we ask visitors to only lay organic or compostable material."
The famous bear paid a heartfelt tribute to The Queen, who passed away peacefully aged 96 at Balmoral, after a reign of seven decades.
A tweet shared from Paddington's official Twitter account read: "Thank you Ma’am, for everything," referencing a line from the Platinum Jubilee sketch.
The tweet has quickly gained one million likes from fans, who were delighted to see the pair team up for the BBC's Party at the Palace.
The tweet left a number of fans in tears and feeling "heartbroken".
One person said: "Didn’t think I’d be crying at Paddington today."
While another posted: "This one tweet has reduced me to a snivelling mess."
King Charles III approved a new bank holiday on Monday, to mark his mother's funeral.
Supermarkets including Asda and M&S will be closing next Monday to mark the momentous day.
A full list of everything open during the day is slowly being confirmed as stores and organisations announce their plans.
A Government statement said: “Monday 19 September, the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, will be a national bank holiday.
"This will allow individuals, businesses and other organisations to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate Her reign, while marking the final day of the period of national mourning."
Paddington will air at 7pm on Saturday on BBC One, while Paddington 2 will air at 6.50pm on Monday,.
The films follow the titular bear as he leaves his aunt Lucy in Peru, for a new life in London, and quickly makes friends with the Brown family, while encountering villains on the way.
