Long-range forecasts from BBC Weather have warned that sleet and possibly snow could fall in Bristol next Wednesday night. The monthly outlook weather forecast said there will be a colder but drier March ahead, with temperatures expected to drop below the seasonal average.
The forecast says: “Sleet and snow showers will be possible at lower elevations, and there is a chance that low pressure will push northwards from the continent bringing more widespread precipitation. How much of that will be wintry is questionable at this stage.”
It added that a similar pattern of colder but drier weather looks likely to persist until the end of March.
The forecast said that the start of March this week 'will be rather cold' with a few scattered showers around. It will be chilly and largely dry with overnight frost and wintry showers could become more widespread later in the week.
