BBC weather forecasts hail in Liverpool and snow in Wirral

The unsettled weather continues in Merseyside, with hail forecast for part of the region.

The last week has seen storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin cause problems across the UK.

According to BBC Weather, there will be hail showers in Liverpool, St Helens, Knowsley and Sefton.

Sleet and snow showers have been forecast for Wirral between 11am to 1pm.

In Liverpool and Knowsley, hail showers will start at 11am and finish at 1pm.

Hail showers will also start at 11am in St Helens and Sefton, but will finish at 2pm and 3pm, respectively.

The Met Office said the weather was expected to stay unsettled over the next few days.

Spokesman Richard Miles said: "For the areas experiencing flood impacts, that will stay the case for the next couple of days but there aren't any additional impacts expected outside those areas.

"There will be rain across central and southern areas on Thursday so we will be seeing wet weather but not huge amounts of additional rain."

He said there was nothing in the forecast for the next four to five days to suggest the UK could see another named storm but forecasters would be looking to see what was developing over the Atlantic.
