BBC Weather forecasts Glasgow to be hit by rain on week ahead of TRNSMT

After days of sunshine in Glasgow, the rain is set to descend on the city, just a week before TRNSMT.

According to BBC Weather, Glasgow is set to be hit by rain fall from Sunday June 26, the same day as Liam Gallagher is performing at Hampden Park. The grim weather is expected to continue right through until Thursday June 30 - so it might not be a bad idea for festival goers to wear some wellies.

Clouds are forecasted for the week ahead, the same goes for TRNSMT weekend, but as we Scots know, the weather can change in an instance.

According to Met Office, for TRNSMT weekend, the skies are forecasted to be unsettled, with a warning of heavy rain on the west coast leading up to the three-day music festival. But temperatures are set to still be warm reaching 18C.

Regarding the UK weather outlook from June 29-July 8, Met Office forecast: "There is an east-west split in conditions through the end of June, as the west is more likely to experience showers, heavy at times, and the east more likely to remain drier with some sunshine, although there is a chance of some showers here. Winds are expected to be moderate or strong at times, especially in the northwest.

"The unsettled conditions are likely to extend over more of the north of the country through the later part of the period, perhaps bringing longer spells of rain to these areas. Southern areas likely staying drier, although with the risk of showers remaining. Temperatures are expected to be near normal, locally warm in parts of the east and southeast."

And from July 8-July 23, they add: "There is a good chance of more settled conditions prevailing through the middle and later part of July, although some northern areas may see spells of rain or showers at times, especially early in the period. These spells could extend across the country at times, but in general the south will see the best of the settled conditions. Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above average initially but trending towards warmer conditions later, especially across the south."

TRNSMT begins on Friday July 8 and will end on Sunday, July 10. Featured acts include Lewis Capaldi, The Strokes and Paolo Nutini.
