Things begin to warm up in Edinburgh from Saturday 14 May with highs of 18C, which rise to 19C on Sunday 15 May before peaking at a baking 21C on Monday 16 May.

All three dates are predicted to experience "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze", according to BBC Weather's official forecast for Edinburgh.

The remainder of the week dips back to a respectable 20C, so it's worth stocking up on suncream now.
