BBC warns Freeview users to make urgent change or risk losing new channel

Freeview users could miss out on their chance to tune into BBC Three for the first time in over eight years if they don't make one simple change.

BBC Three made a comeback to our screens last night after it returned to live TV for the first time after moving online in 2016.

However, the BBC has confirmed that some Freeview users won't see this new service unless they have updated their telly box.

Explaining more in post online the BBC explained: "Freeview users may need to retune to find BBC Three, if it’s not already listed in your EPG (electronic programme guide)."

If you are a Sky, Freesat and Virgin customer your box should update automatically and you can instantly tune into the new relaunched BBC channel.

Once you've updated your Freeview device you'll find BBC Three will be available via Channel 23.
