BBC viewers in tears over young blind pianist's incredible Coronation Concert performance

BBC viewers were left in tears as they watched a young blind pianist wow the audience with her Coronation concert performance.

Lucy, who is from The Amber Trust, performed an incredible piano performance during tonight's concert at Windsor Castle, as King Charles and Queen Camilla eagerly watched on. The Amber Trust provides musical opportunities for blind and partially sighted children, as well as those with complex needs, with viewers left in tears by Lucy's performance.

One wrote: "#CoronationConcert is incredibly emotional - amazing performances by Lucy and the Romeo and Juliet ensemble," as another added: "Wow Lucy @theambertrust. You had me in tears! What a wonderful talent and a beautiful young lady. Bravo!"

A third shared: "OMG. Lucy playing the piano at the #CoronationConcert (just like on C4's The Piano). A very large lump in my throat..." whilst a fourth penned: "Ah! Amazing Lucy. What a star. Your mum must be overwhelmed with pride! #CoronationConcert."

The Coronation concert took place in the grounds of Windsor Castle today, just a day after King Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned in a big service at Westminster Abbey in front of family, distinguished guests and some of the celebrities performing tonight.

Prince Harry was in attendance but rushed home soon after to be with his son Archie, who celebrated this fourth birthday yesterday. Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, who both perform tonight, were at the Coronation in London before making their way to Windsor.

The BBC promised the Coronation concert would be a spectacular viewing for the 20,000 people who were in attendance as well as the thousands of people who would be watching on their TV at home.

However, two stars have already been forced to pull out of the event including singer Freya Ridings and presenter Zoe Ball.

Admitting she was "absolutely gutted" to be unable to attend, she wrote: "was meant to be heading to Windsor for the #coronationconcert on Radio2 later. I'm heading back to bed," before confirming Scott Mills and Dermot O'Leary would take over.

Freya Ridings also pulled out of the concert, just a day before it was due to go ahead.

The BBC said in a statement, as they confirmed that Zak Abel would be standing in in Freya's absence: "The BBC has announced that British singer-songwriter Zak Abel is stepping in to perform at Sunday’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, replacing Freya Ridings, who has had to pull out, due to being unwell and therefore unable to perform."

Zak added: "I am honoured and overwhelmed to be included in the Coronation celebrations. To have the opportunity to be part of such a historic moment is something I will forever be humbled by and will never forget."
