The BBC's new show The Traitors has been branded a "rip off" of a Netflix programme.
The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, was aired on Tuesday night after the England and Wales World Cup match. The show sees 16 contestants trying to figure out who 'the traitors' in their group are in a bid to win money.
Within the first few minutes of the BBC show, Claudia axed two contestants who were immediately sent home. The second bombshell came as contestant Alex revealed to the camera that she was in a secret relationship with fellow contestant Thom.

Neither of them has revealed their relationship with the rest of the cast. Later on, the blindfolded contestants sat around the table in a stunning Scottish castle as Claudia selected her three traitors after subjecting them to intense questioning.
However, some viewers were left unimpressed by the programme and said it was a "rip off" of Netflix series The Mole, reports Birmingham Live. A number of people aired their opinions on Twitter.
@TNCargill said: "First opinion, #thetraitors is a pumped up version of #themole." @InlandEmpire777 tweeted: "Dogs**t. A lowest common denominator rip off of the worst American TV. #thetraitors."
@_Reeperbahn wrote: "Used to absolutely adore The Mole (yet to watch the Netflix version) and the whole fun as an audience member was not knowing who the mole was. What's the fun in revealing who the traitors are to us?! Least let us play along for a while #TheTraitors."
@_luisamay added: "I thought they wouldn’t tell us who the traitors were like Netflix’s The Mole. I wanted to play along and try to work out who they were! #TheTraitors."
Another viewer commented: "Whoever came up with this #BBC show the traitors should probably be introduced to the programme #themole. The words 'rip off' come to mind!"
