The Traitors viewers were left gobsmacked by a major twist during the episode that aired on Wednesday, December 7. Presenter Claudia Winkleman left fans of the BBC show shocked as she reintroduced two previously eliminated contestants back to the game.
Amos and Kieran, who were told to leave the show by Claudia in episode one, made an unexpected return to the competition, with the host revealing they had never really left. During a challenge that saw the contestants face a congregation wearing gold masks, the two former contestants removed theirs to reveal themselves.
They were met with gasps from their fellow players as Claudia explained: "Kieran and Amos did not leave the game on day one, you can only leave The Traitors if you are murdered or banished."

She continued: "I had them hidden away separately and they are now coming back to play the game." As Kieran and Amos then joined the group, Claudia added: "Here's the thing, are they joining you as a faithful or traitor."
It was then revealed to viewers at home that the pair were entering the game as faithfuls, as they set to work asking the others who they were suspicious of. Viewers will remember during episode one that Claudia made a "savage" move when she sent Amos and Kieran home before they'd even had a chance to get started or even step foot inside the castle.
The host told the contestants she wanted to run a little experiment and asked them all to line up in order of who was most likely to win and who was least likely to win. Amos, a 30-year-old doctor, placed himself at the bottom, as did Kieran, 42, who said: "I thought I don't want to be the c**ky, confident one at the end thinking you've got this, you'll win hands down, so I thought I'd rock up at the end space."
What came next shocked everyone, as Claudia coldly said: "Every decision you make, every single one, has a consequence, so you two, you think you’re going to lose... I’m going to take you at your word." She then added: "So I'm afraid it's goodbye. I'd like you to leave the grounds immediately."
However, the new revelation left viewers at home blown away. Taking to Twitter, one social user wrote: "WHAAAAAAT!! Twisty McTwisterson! Claudia you naughty little thing you!" While another added: "OMG!!!!! They never left the game! #TheTraitors."
"LITERALLY, THIS SHOW IS AMAZING," said a third, while a fourth commented: "Good twist." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
