BBC The Traitors: Viewers are all saying the same thing about Claudia Winkleman's new game show

A brand new game show hosted by Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman, in which deception and discovery are the keys to winning a prize money of £120,000, began on Tuesday, November 29 on BBC One at 9:30pm - and most viewers have had the same reaction to it.

The Scottish Highlands-based show initially featuring 22 contestants and a prize pot of £120k, as explained by Claudia, is "in essence a psychological reality show where players must decide who they can trust".

The contestants have to work together as a team but hidden among the group are some traitors - players Claudia selected at the start of the show, including Swansea estate agent Amanda, who you can read more about here. Traitors must, under the cover of darkness, ‘murder’ one of their fellow players every single night thus eliminating them from the game - unless the others can work out who they are first.

After eliminating two contestants at the beginning of the show, Claudia explained: “Now you have to work out who the traitors are amongst you and banish them from the game." She then advised: "Get them before they get you. Remember there is £120,000 to win. There are 20 of you now, but at the end, if there are any traitors in your midst, they take all the money."

And viewers, it seems, are absolutely loving this new show - and its format - that many are comparing to I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Among Us and Survivor.

@LewisJ815 took to Twitter to say: "This shows feels like Among Us, I’m a Celeb (civilian version), Survivor and The Murder Game wrapped into a mansion. I am HERE for it #TheTraitors", before adding: "Oh damn this is on nightly? I’m a Celeb WHO?! #TheTraitors".

@_erinz_ said: "Started watching #TheTraitors and I fully gasped literally 10 minutes in… oh god I’m gonna love this show". @elliot_gonzalez commented: "I love how involved Claudia Winkleman is in this format. She’s so good. #TheTraitors" alongside @danielsw1997 who said: "This has potential to give us classic Big Brother type drama I love it #TheTraitors."

User @TomDix_ also voiced his thoughts, saying: "#TheTraitors is the best reality show game show in ages, I can already tell I’m going to love it. It’s got such a good diverse and interesting cast, the camera work is stunning, Claudia is the perfect host and it’s full of really good twists. It’s so refreshing."

But some aren't as convinved by this new show as others.

@steve_evo commented: "The only thing murdered is Winkleman's reputation #TheTraitors", while @CarryOnDaniel said: "OK this is bloody awful tv. It’s hard to believe this is aimed at adults and features adults #thetraitors."

The Traitors continues on BBC1 tomorrow night at 9:15pm.
