Jane McDonald became tearful during an appearance on The One Show as she was shown a moving clip from her new show that she described as a "very special moment".
The presenter appeared on the BBC show on Thursday to chat to hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating about her new series of Holidaying With Jane McDonald. Sharing that she had visited Mexico and Cyprus on her latest travels as part of the Channel 5 show, a clip was then shown that made her emotional.
The scene from an episode of the new series showed Jane releasing two baby turtles into the ocean, as she told the camera: "I'm calling one Ed and one Jean." The 59-year-old star explained that this was in honour of her late partner and mum.

Jane's mum sadly passed away in December 2018, and she lost fiancé Ed Rothe to lung cancer in April 2021. After the clip played, a tearful Jane told Alex and Ronan why the moment was so special to her and had to pause when she became choked up.
"I've just recently lost my partner and my mother at the same time - sorry, my throat went there," she said as her voice caught. "Always does when I talk about them."
Speaking about the experience of releasing the turtles into the wild, Jane added: "I just thought, this is new life. You've just got to think, at the end of something comes something beautiful in new life, and that's what we all have to remember."
The hosts were left in stitches moments later as Jane quickly rebuffed a flippant comment made by Alex Jones over another clip of her upcoming series. After Jane was shown braving a hair-raising zipline in Las Vegas, Alex remarked: "It looks like it's going quite slow, to be fair."
"No it's not, it goes quite fast," Jane shot back, leading to Ronan and the audience bursting into laughter. "You see my hair flowing in the background? That's because it's quite fast."
Back in November 2021, Jane was left in tears as she made a return to Loose Women following Ed's death at the age of just 67. The heartbroken star admitted at the time that it had been "incredibly tough" to return to the ITV show. "I know that many of you are in a similar situation and my heart goes out to you," she wrote on Twitter. "Whilst there are still difficult days, there are many better days to come."
