The One Show paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as it returned to our screens on the evening her funeral. Following an emotional day which saw the nation's longest-serving sovereign laid to rest following a state funeral and procession through London and Windsor, the BBC One talk show and current affairs programme adopted a different look.
In the first state funeral since Sir Winston Churchill's in 1965, the late monarch made her final journey from Westminster Abbey to St George's Chapel for a committal service and private burial to be laid to rest alongside her late husband Prince Philip. TV viewers could then join The One Show on BBC One to reflect over the day's events.
Hosts Alex Jones and Gethin Jones were dressed in all black as they were seated in a dimly-lit studio surrounded by photos of the Queen and 'Our Queen Remembered' on a TV screen. The show also switched its signature trumpet theme-tune for gentler, regal music.

"Hello and thank you for joining us on the day the world said a last goodbye to her majesty the Queen," welcomed Alex. "Well it's been a day of emotion but it's also brought people all across the country together as we pay our final respects."
The hosts were joined by former Gogglebox star the Rev Kate Bottley who told how funerals can bring comfort to grieving families as a 'script' for grief and an occasion to bring loved-ones together. "You don't have to go on holiday together but you can sit side by side," she said.
Kate also amazed Alex and was praised as 'organised' by revealing that one of the hymns included in the Queen's funeral she had chosen herself for her own funeral.
During The One Show special, mourners shared their memories of the Queen during her reign of 70 years. In another segment presenter Alex visited Bolton town centre as people reflected on their loss and the moments that struck an emotional chord with them during the 10 day period of mourning.
