BBC The Capture: Where was the BBC drama filmed?

The new series of BBC drama The Capture gripped audiences when it began on Sunday, August 28. The first series came out in 2019 and was also a hit.

The Capture explores the mad-capped world of digital intelligence and surveillance. The first instalment saw an ambitious young DCI (played by Holliday Grainger) enter the terrifying world of deep fake technology. The new six-part series builds on these themes in a gripping original story.

Where was The Capture filmed?

London is the backdrop for The Capture as Britain is under siege: hacked news feeds, manipulated media, and interference in politics. Entrenched in the UK’s own ‘Correction’ unit, DCI Rachel Carey finds herself in the middle of a new conspiracy - with a new target. But how can she solve this case when she can’t even trust her closest colleagues?

Filming locations in London include Canterbury Prison in Kent, The Shard, and Rotherhithe's Printworks venue. For the first series filming locations also included Sutton, a London suburb, Holborn and Stratford. The famous control room, where many scenes took place in the first series, is not a real control room and is instead a set made for the show. This set in West London Studios in Hayes.

The Capture continues on BBC One on Monday, August, 29 at 9pm. Subsequent episodes will continue to air on Sundays from then on.

The full six-part series will be available on BBC iPlayer as a boxset from Sunday, August 28, meaning viewers will not need to wait and can binge-watch the series straight away.
