BBC Strictly viewers call for Sam Ryder to be part of show after guest appearance

Each week on Strictly Come Dancing a different celebrity reads out the terms and conditions and this week Eurovision star Sam Ryder took on the role, with viewers loving him. Sam shot to fame in 2022 as the UK's entry for the Eurovision song contest with his song Spaceman.

Sam finished second in Eurovision, with Ukraine winning, and quickly became well-loved. Now viewers are calling for him to have a permanent role on the show after he read out the small print for viewers at home.

Some want him to be a full-time presenter whereas others want him to take part as a celebrity dancer. One said: "Sam Ryder needs to be on Strictly. We need to make this happen #strictly"

Another added: "Sam Ryder for Strictly 2023 lets make it happen #strictly" and a third said: "Sam Ryder would be an amazing contestant on Strictly #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing". Another viewer said: "Petition for @SamRyderMusic to do #strictly Next year" and a fifth said: "Could we see Sam Ryder in next years strictly come dancing please? #strictly."

Earlier in 2022 Sam announced his UK tour which will be taking place in March 2023. He will be playing at the Great Hall in Cardiff on Saturday, April 1 2023.

Former footballer Tony Adams was the latest celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing after sustaining an injury. Adams, who was partnered with Katya Jones, described his experience on the show as “emotional” adding: “I cried for the first month.”

The former sportsman said: “I came in here with one message, if you’ve got an issue with mental health then please don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help. Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process. I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my God the rollercoaster of emotion."
