BBC Strictly's Matt Goss reunited with pet dog after moving back to the UK as he's flooded with support over 'nasty' criticism

Singer Matt Goss has been reunited with his beloved pet dog as he was flooded with support after making his Strictly Come Dancing debut. The Bros heart-throb, who has performed a residency of more than 10 years in Las Vegas with shows at The Palms, Caesars Palace and The Mirage, melted hearts as he was seen with his pooch Reggie after returning to the UK.

Matt shared a sweet snap of himself walking French bulldog Reggie, and the comments came pouring in. "Do you think he feels like he's home?" he asked as he shared a video of the pooch gnawing a bone on a Union Jack-patterned cushion in front of a fire after he joined his owner on his home turf just before Matt's 54th birthday.

Another snap showed Matt in his trademark fedora on a stylish walk with Reggie. "My everyday quickstep!!" he captioned the photo. Strictly Come Dancing co-star Fleur East shared love heart and raising hands emojis and American pop star Debbie Gibson exclaimed: "He’s arrived ?!? YAY!!!"

rawilliams76 cheered: "Aww yay!!! So good to see he’s finally on UK soil #Reggie Hope he’s settling in nicely, bless him. In time for your birthday too! #Bestpressie What a trip that must have been." Mousebitton said: "Omg Reggie your boy is home I’m so so so happy for you." And samstewart18x wrote: "Warms my heart that you have your boy with you."

The eighties heartthrob, who shot to fame with hits including Drop The Boy and I Owe You Nothing, was beaming after he and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadia Bychkova performed during the first live show on Saturday. They did the quickstep to Sir Duke, but fans complained that he was 'undermarked.'

Judge Anton Du Beke picked fault, making comments including: "I'd like a better line through the body." When Matt asked "what was good?" Anton listed: "Feet, timing, style, musicality. "But then he added: "Unfortunately you looked like an unmade bed."

The comment led host Tess Daly to ask: "What are you the new Craig?", referencing his fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood, who is known for his sharp tongue. And there was amazement as Craig waded in to defend Matt. "They're all being really nasty," he said. "That was punchy. It was a really great routine." @underseamonkey tweeted: "Somebody call the police because Matt Goss has been robbed tonight in Elstree."

@Rue_Magi commented: "Matt Goss really undermarked there." And @CasparPie said: "Matt Goss was undermarked he was decent for week one" as he racked up 20 points out of a possible 40 and landed second to bottom on the leaderboard.
