Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden was left in floods of tears after reflecting on her time with partner James Bye on the BBC dancing show. The couple left the competition on Sunday, October 30 after facing Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the dance off.
Discussing their exit from the competition on Strictly: It Takes Two with Rylan Clark on Monday, October 31, both Amy and James appeared visibly upset. “There’s only so much control you can have. All you can do is go out and do your best,” James told Rylan before adding: “I’m happy to have left the competition under those circumstances.”
Watching their best bits, Amy and James became more emotional, with her gently putting her hand on his shoulder as they both came to terms with the fact that they’d no longer dance together. “I can’t believe how much we’ve done,” said James as he remembered his time on the show. Addressing his dance partner, he added: “I have never worked with anyone who loves their job as much as Amy does,” and with that, she burst into tears. “This is what Strictly is about and they are lucky to have her,” he concluded.

The couple's axe from the competition comes after they failed to impress judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton du Beke and Shirley Ballas with their Charleston to Bumble Bee by LaVern Baker during Halloween Week. After beating them in the dance off, Fleur and Vito will remain in the competition after performing a Salsa to Break My Soul by Beyoncé. Fleur and Vito won the votes of all four judges.
After being voted off, Amy told James: "You came on here to show your boys they can throw themselves into any challenge in life, and you are the best role model they could ever have as their daddy! I am so proud of you!"
Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7pm on Saturday, November 5 on BBC One
