BBC Strictly Come Dancing star set to live in tent in Majorca after quitting UK

A Strictly Come Dancing star has revealed his family will be living in a tent in Majorca after quitting the UK. Brendan Cole, who is a regular face on Strictly Come Dancing and ITV's Dancing On Ice, has shared how he and his family will move into a glamping tent at one of his properties on the Balearic Island while a refurbishment of the house is complete.

The star said that he has had a number of homes abroad over the years, with plans of renovating them, but has never had the time. Instead he has had to sell them on.

But now, Brendan told the Sun and his family will get the chance to revamp one of their homes. He said "Because we're doing the renovation we actually can't live in the house so the plan is to actually be in a glamping tent on the property which is quite nice although if it gets too hot, which I fear it might be, we may well just come back," reports Birmingham Live.

“We have stayed in it from time to time with the kids and, we had a moment of gin madness probably three or four months ago now when, over a couple of trips to Mallorca, we took this massive bell tent over with us."

In 2010, Cole married Zoe Hobbs, who gave birth to their first child, daughter Aurelia, on Christmas Day 2012. In March 2018, Zoe gave birth to their son Danté.

47-year-old Brendan is most famous for appearing as a professional dancer on the BBC One show, Strictly Come Dancing. From 2005 to 2009, he was a judge on the New Zealand version of the show, Dancing with the Stars.

Brendan starred on the show from 2004 to 2018. "It’s quite, actually, hard to talk about," he told ITV Lorraine previously. “The BBC haven’t renewed my contract. We get contracted year upon year. They’ve made an editorial decision to not have me back on the show. I’m a little bit in shock. I’m quite emotional, a bit raw about it.

“It’s done via a process of a phone call and stuff. I have had 15 incredible series on the show. I’m very proud of the whole show. It’s a great team.”
