BBC Strictly Come Dancing spoiler news for semi-final 'stresses' fans as leak fails

BBC's Strictly Come Dancing is now in its final weeks of the competition and the remaining contestants have upped their game. Viewers, however, have had to wait for the outcome of this week's dance battle as the show was shifted from its usual spot due to scheduling of the World Cup and so fans are still waiting to hear which couple will be dealt the agonizing blow of not making it to the Strictly final.

Spoilers revealing who will lose their place in the show usually leak late on Saturday night after the show is aired. But, so far, there has been no hint of who has made it through to this year's Strictly final - and fans are getting anxious.

The semi-final was delayed and aired on Sunday because of England's match in the World Cup the previous night, which means the results show will air tonight (December 12). However, fans waiting for results news from the pre-recorded show have been left disappointed as Monday came and, according to Chronicle Live, there have been no spoilers.

Sunday evening's show took a more serious tone and the judges' critique became more refined. The pressure was certainly on the five pairs left in the competition, especially with a place in the final at stake. Each couple performed two dances, and after all the routines had been showcased on the dancefloor, it was wildlife photographer Hamza Yassin and professional dance partner Jowita Przystal who were enjoying their place at the top of the leaderboard with an overall score of 76 out of 80, ahead of CBBC star Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in second.

Hollyoak's Will Mellor and Nancy Xu finished at the bottom and received some scathing feedback from the judges for their paso doble. They upped their game with their second performances though and the feedback was much improved.

Following the programme, Twitter users waited for news to break on who would be leaving the show. Spoilers usually leak and impatient fans keen to hear who will be heading home ahead of the show airing often wait up for a snippet of information to break. One fan said: "Waiting for the #StrictlySpoiler is giving me huge anxiety." A second tweeted: "#StrictlySpoiler pls hurry up. I'm stressed and want to go to sleep."

The person who runs the Strictly Spoiler Twitter account had an update for fans as the time neared 1am, writing: "Sorry guys but that’s about me for the night as I have a lecture at 9am I’ve no mole and other (reputable) sources are struggling too. There will be a spoiler but it’s either going to be overnight or early morning if a mole comes through or I have my other source I used in covid."

However, even by 8am today, there was still no concrete answer. Fans were facing up to the fact they might actually have to watch the results show to find out who was in the dance-off and who went home.

Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One at 8.15pm tonight. Lewis Capaldi will perform in the studio and there will be a group number involving judge Craig Revel-Horwood. Catch up on BBC iPlayer.
