BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones' telling comment to Tony Adams after last dance revealed amid emotional exit chat

Katya Jones' telling comment to partner Tony Adams at the end of what turned out to be their last dance on Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed. The pair took to the ballroom on Saturday night with their latest routine with their usual infectious energy. But within 24 hours, viewers of the BBC One dance contest were given the news that Tony and Katya had withdrawn from the competition.

The dancing couple were set to compete in the dance-off against Kiss FM Dj Tyler West and his dance partner Dianne Buswell after failing to impress with their jive to Land Of 1,000 Dances by Wilson Pickett, which saw them earn just 24 out of a possible 40 points and bottom place on the leaderboard.

After going through the usual steps of revealing which couples are safe before being left with the two dance-off couples, Tess Daly made an announcement. She said: "Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance-off and has decided to withdraw from the competition. This means there will be no dance-off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool."

Fans were soon speaking out in defence of Tony to say they could see the moment he became injured after some claimed he decided to leave the show of his own accord before being voted off. Tony also took to Instagram himself to share how he could "no longer ignore medical advice".

Sharing a joyous photo of him being held aloft by his new Strictly pals he apologised to Tyler for not being able to perform the dance-off and thanked everyone who made his experience an "unbelievable joyful, tough and exhilarating 8 weeks."

He has since given an emotional interview on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two. But not before Strictly released its latest 'hidden mics' video which gives fans of the BBC One show an inside glimpse on what the celebrities and their dance partners are saying to each other throughout their routines and the seconds after they come to an end every Saturday night.

Katya was seen embracing Tony after their jive came to an end as she said: "I love you!" It comes amid a rumoured 'feud' between the pair after they were spotted the weekend before the exit appearing to exchange words after their performance didn't quite go as well as hoped.

As mentioned, on Monday night (November 14) Tony and Katya appeared on the couch with Rylan Clark on the spin-off show It Takes Two. Tony, who had been troubled by a painful hamstring, opened up about the injury that caused him to withdraw from his Strictly journey.

The former footballer, 56, shared how it had been 'getting tough' for a few weeks and explained that he almost pulled out of Saturday's live show until he found out that his mother-in-law was coming to watch him perform.

Tony, who has previously opened up about being 26 years without drink and drugs and having a mental breakdown six years ago, then looked emotional as he told Rylan: "I came into the show with one message to get the awareness of mental health and addiction out there. To say, 26 years ago I should have been dead. I didn't want to be on the planet and now I'm dancing on this show."
