BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice still supports Rose Ayling-Ellis with sweet message

They may not be dancing together anymore but Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis' support for each other is very much continuing.

The pair dazzled audiences for weeks as they competed during the 2021 edition of the BBC One dance contest.

Their partnership captured viewers' hearts and their skills impressed the judges, leading them to victory back in December as they lifted the Glitterball trophy following an emotional finale.

Rose and Giovanni's Strictly journey was extended as they both reunited after Christmas for the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2022 tour.

And once again the dancing couple emerged victorious winning 31 out of a total of 33 shows across the country and coming runner-up at the two shows they didn't win.

But there was sadness when the pair had to part ways as their Strictly experience officially ended.

However, their vow to remain friends has become evident after Giovanni shared a sweet message to his former dance partner after she picked up another award.

Rose was awarded the inspirational person of the year award at the Visionary Honours Awards earlier this week.

The gong was presented to the 27-year-old by businessman and The Apprentice star Tim Campbell and she later shared a video of herself beaming as she headed home firmly clutching her gong.

And Giovanni was among those showing their support.

Sharing a photo of Rose that she posted from the ceremony on his Instagram Stories, Giovanni gushed: "Proud of you," followed by a red love heart and rose emoji.

Rose then re-shared his post and said: "Thank you @giovannipernice.

“And huge congratulations to you for your opening last night,” followed by a heart-eyes emoji after the Strictly professional kickstarted his solo tour, This Is Me, on Tuesday night.

And Rose's fellow Strictly stars were also gushing over her latest achievement.

Sharing a picture of herself at the ceremony, the EastEnders actress said: "Had a wonderful evening yesterday at the Visionary Honours Awards, so lovely to meet such talented and creative people!

"I am beyond flattered to have won the inspirational person of the year award. I always believe the most important people are the ones who we inspire.

"For me it is the deaf people who have become more confident and prouder of their identity and the hearing people who want to learn more and to do better. That is where the real change happens."

Strictly 2021 finalist John Whaite said: "Richly deserved. Inspiration to many."

"You are just an incredible young woman missus and an inspiration to so many - not just the deaf community. So well deserved!" Dragons' Den star Sara Davies wrote.
