BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Anton du Beke announces ITV project away from show

Anton Du Beke has announced an exciting ITV project away from BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing. The professional dancer turned judge has confirmed he will appear on Cooking with the Stars later this year.

The ITV show, which is hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, sees eight celebrities paired with a professional chef who will mentor, teach and take them from passionate amateur to restaurant-level chefs. The six-part cooking competition will air in the summer and is the show's second series.

Anton has been announced as part of the line-up and is partnered with British chef and TV presenter Rosemary Shrager. Shortly after the news broke Anton took to social media to share details about his new role.

Posting a picture of himself and Rosmary hugging, he said: "Best bib & tucker, my loves - literally… Delighted to be invited to partake in the next series of @ITV's #CookingWithTheStars! Under the expert tutelage of @RosemaryShrager I'll swap sashays for sautés and voltas for veloutés this summer… details soon! Much love, Anton."

Anton will be joined by seven more celebrities, including Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes, This Morning's Josie Gibson, Chaser Anne Hegerty, Love Island's Maura Higgins, TV expert Dr Ranj Singh, comedian Joe Wilkinson and DJ Woody Cook.

The other professionals taking part are renowned chef and business owner Ronnie Murray, chef director Jack Stein, Korean chef and restaurateur Judy Joo, Michelin Starred French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, Scottish chef and restaurateur Tony Singh MBE, author and regular chef on This Morning Clodagh McKenna and restaurateur and TV personality Mike Reid.

Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, Katie Rawcliffe, said: "With the warmth of Emma and the wit of Tom I’m excited to see what culinary delights this year's cooking novices bring to the table. The series not only entertained but inspired our viewers to get into the kitchen and try restaurant worthy dishes from the comfort of their own homes.

"We are delighted to have some of the best chefs in the country guiding our celebrities who will be put through their paces in this intense, exciting and fast paced environment."

Cooking With The Stars is a partnership between Marks & Spencer, ITV and South Shore and will air on the channel later this year. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
