Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman apologised on Saturday's show (October 15) after a comment made by Tony Adams. Former Arsenal centre-back Tony received 26 points with an emotional American Smooth with partner Katya Jones.
Judge Craig Revel Horwood said the performance was "better" as the dancers continued their bid to win the Glitterball. But host Claudia was forced to apologise after Tony, 56, erupted following Craig's comment and pumped his fists at the audience, reports the Liverpool Echo.
"I would like to apologise if there was anything fruity in the language," the presenter said. Tony was stunned as he said: "Did I say something? Oh I'm sorry. I was so excited Claudia." Claudia insisted he didn't need to apologise. She said: "Don't be silly. Craig said 'better' and it often gets us all going. I get it."
The performance was dedicated to the people who helped Tony overcome his addiction struggles and he was praised by fans following the show on Twitter. Mark said: "I absolutely LOVE @TonyAdams on @bbcstrictly - so many of the other contestants are in showbusiness of some kind, but one of the best footballers of his generation and is 100 miles from his comfort zone dancing. And… he seems such a nice guy! Go Tony!!!"
Georgia commented: "I want Tony Adams to WIN this competition what a man crikey." John posted: "get voting team Tony."
