BBC Strictly Come Dancing launch postponed following Queen's death

The launch of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend has been postponed following the Queen's death, as the country continues to mourn.

There had been speculation whether or not the show would return to our screens on Saturday September 17 with BBC bosses confirming today that the launch has in fact been delayed.

That means the 20th series will now return on Friday September 23, in a pre-recorded show as the celebrities are paired with the professional dancers.

The live shows will begin on Saturday September 24, the broadcaster confirmed.

A number of celebrities taking part this year have paid tribute to Her Majesty, with former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh - who is set to take to the dancefloor during this year's series of Strictly - also paid tribute online, writing: "RIP your Majesty.

"The people of the world will miss you. May we always aspire to your shining example."

Loose Women host Kaye Adams sad her thoughts are with the Royal Family.
