BBC Strictly Come Dancing: Giovanni Pernice addresses Rose Ayling-Ellis rumours as he panics fans

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice almost left fans devastated after he addressed 'rumours' about his dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Fans of the hit BBC show were blown away by the couple during the 2021 series thanks to their impressive moves and adorable partnership.

Rose and Giovanni made it all the way to December's final where they went head-to-head with John Whaite and Johannes Radebe for the Glitterball Trophy.

After both pair's finished level with the judge's scores, it was the public who voted Rose and Giovanni as their winners.

And now Giovanni, 31, has addressed some rumours about his dance partner and new friend Rose, 27, M.E.N reports.

The dancing couple are heading out on the road with the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour this week alongside several of their co-stars.

They already had a TV reunion last week on This Morning and members of the 2021 cast have been giving a glimpse behind-the-scenes as they prepare for the string of arena shows.

But Giovanni had other ideas.

He took to his Instagram story with a video of himself sat on what looks like the Strictly tour bus.

"Good morning lovely people, just a quick message to clarify all the rumours that are going on at the moment," he began.

The Italian dancer continued: "Yes it’s true, Rose is not doing the tour anymore so I will be dancing on my own, all day, every day."

However, it was all just a big trick as Rose, looking bewildered by her partner's claims, appeared in shot and told him: "I'm not going anywhere."

"You're not going anywhere?" Giovanni asked. "You coming on tour with me?"

As Rose said yes, the pro continued: "Oh, so she is doing the tour."

"You happy?" Rose asked with a smile to which he replied: "Very."

The pair then giggled as the short video ended.

The Strictly Come Dancing stars have already hit the road following a week of rehearsals.

They'll now continue to practice in the arena ahead of the first show on Thursday (January 20) in Birmingham.

The Strictly juggernaut will arrive in Manchester on January 29 for two shows at the AO Arena.

The celebrities also joining Rose on the tour are Sara Davies, John Whaite, Tilly Ramsay, Rhys Stephenson, and two Strictly 2020 alumni Max George and Maisie Smith.

The tour will also be hosted by the show's former professional dancer turned It Takes Two host Janette Manrara.
